Needing ideas on places to eat out with your little one? Here are suggestions from a few of your friends (they are in alphabetical order, not based on location). If you have suggestions on places to add, just let Sarah know and we will add them. If you want to write up a little review of the place or let us know of a few highlights, that would be great. I will also include websites if I can find them and addresses. At the end of the list are the links for Multnomah and Washington Counties Reastaurant Inspections (for your reference).

Fat City Cafe Phone: 503.245.5457 7820 SW Capitol Hwy - Portland, OR 97219 http://www.fatcitycafe.net/ Details per Mom: They have the tiniest bathroom in the world, so there is no changing area, but it is a pretty decent 'greasy spoon'. We like their breakfasts (we have never been for other meals). They have great cinnamon rolls and their biscuits are awesome (they used to be a lot bigger though). I love their State of Oregon placemats, so you can learn while you eat!
Grandma Leeth's Restaurant Phone: 503.291.7800 10122 SW Park Way, Portland, OR 97225 http://www.grandmaleeths.com/Home.htmDetails per Mom: Another great location with a monitored playarea and seperate dining area. Kids can eat at the table or go play and let mom and dad have dinner alone.
Hopworks pub 2944 SE Powell Blvd, Portland OR http://hopworksbeer.typepad.com/my_weblog/ Details per Mom: Good food, good beer, and a kids play area near the back. There is also a deck for outside seating when the weather is nice.
Laughing Planet Phone: there are multiple locations, so check website for the location of your choice Address: there are multiple locations, so check website for the location of your choice http://www.laughingplanetcafe.com/ Details per Mom: I have been to the locations at Gabriel Park and on Belmont. Both are great, have lots of highchairs, plenty of toys, and a kids menu. The changing area on Belmont was a little difficult, but that is my only qualm! They are great and a perfect stop for lunch after an Indoor Park session at SW Community Center (at Gabriel Park)!
Laurelwood NW Public House West: 2327 NW Kearney Street, Portland, OR 97210 Phone: 503.228.5553 East: 5115 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, OR 97213 Phone: 503.282.0622 http://www.laurelwoodbrewpub.com Details per Mom: They have a play area upstairs so kids can play and wander. Places can get a little loud, so it won't matter if your kiddo is going through that screaming phase. Food and beer are both good.
Marco's Cafe Phone: 503.245.0199 7910 SW 35th Ave., Portland, OR 97219 http://www.marcoscafe.com/about/marcosmap.shtml Details per Mom: We prefer Marco's for breakfast/lunch/brunch more than dinner. We find dinner a little over priced and nothing special. Breakfast/lunch/brunch is fantastic though. They give the kids crayons and have a menu for them too.
McGraths Fish House Phone: Look up the location on the website for your nearest location Address: Look up the location on the website for your nearest location http://www.mcgrathsfishhouse.com/salads.html
McMenamins Pubs Phone: Look up the location on the website for your nearest location Address: Look up the location on the website for your nearest location http://www.mcmenamins.com/ Details per Moms: Cornelius Pass Roadhouse (McMennamins): This is a great summer location for kids. You can eat outside on the picnic tables. There is tons of room for the kids to run around and play. They can make as much noise as they want. There are lots of other kids for them to play with. Not sure what the high chair situation is outside though. Might want to bring your stroller or booster seat along just in case.
Me Too! Cafe Phone: 503.439.6586 16755 Baseline Rd. #102, Beaverton OR 97006 http://www.metoobeaverton.com/ Details per Mom: Great concept with the monitored play area for the kids and the dining area for adults to get away. The kids can also sit with you if you choose. Nice bathrooms with great changing areas (fully stocked). $5 to play in the room.
Munchkin Playland Phone: 503.533.5438 18335 NW West Union Rd, Portland, OR, 97201 Details per Mom: Basically it is a play area that serves Stump Town coffee and munchies from Beaverton Bakery. They have an area sectioned off that has some nice climbing structures that are great for kids in our age bracket. The structures are like the one's at the play area at Washington Square and while I am creeped out by the play area at Wash. Square I liked this place. I think the cleanliness factor and the fact that there was a reasonable number of kids there make a big difference. The equipment is safe and everything is well padded. If I remember right it is $5 to play. My one complaint is that while the climbing area is walled off and padded on most sides there is an entry way that is open so that the kids can enter and leave the area at their own free will. For the most part this is fine unless you want to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with your husband without chasing down the little one as she runs around the cafe. Hard to enjoy the free Wi-fi if you keep having to run after the little one as well.

Osaka-Ya Phone: 503.293.1066 7007 SW Macadam Ave, Portland, OR 97210 Details per Mom: We are regulars here for sushi, but have recently found their kids menu to be quite good. They only have a few choices, but they are good (there is a teriyaki dinner, and Udon dinner, and a couple of others). Each of the kids dinners are around $5 and include a drink and an ice cream (I usually eat his ice cream and we don't get the drink). The sushi is also some of the best in town (in our opinion).
Outback Steak House Phone: Look up the location on the website for your nearest location Address: Look up the location on the website for your nearest location http://www.outbacksteakhouse.com/ Details per Mom: We like their Take Away better than eating in the restaurant. Much easier to manage at home and we can eat at our speed rather than having to do a lot of waiting.

Sweet Tomatoes Phone: Look up the location on the website for your nearest location Address: Look up the location on the website for your nearest location http://www.sweettomatoes.com/locations/fm/ Details per Mom: Very kid friendly! Tots eat free up to age 2 I think. Lots of things for them to try. This is the only place we go to that we don't have to bring anything with us for Ella to eat. They have tons of stuff that she likes. You get your food immediately because it is a salad bar so there is no waiting. It is by far the easiest place to take her. Highly recommend this for kids.
